    Wedang Uwuh

    The best-known wedang, and the original. A recipe handed down from the Mataram royal court, made with sappanwood, cloves, cardamom and selected leaves. It's called “uwuh” because it looks like a pile of fallen leaves, but the taste is anything but simple.

Why “Wungu”

More than just the colour purple.

In Javanese, wungu means to wake, and malih means again. Wungu Malih: awaken again. Just like our spices, which come back to life when brewed. Dry and still inside the sachet, then the moment they meet hot water, their colour, aroma and flavour return in full to your cup.

Awaken it in 3 steps.

  1. Isi sachet di dalam gelas

    Add 1 sachet

    Open the sachet and tip its contents into a glass.

  2. Menuang air panas ke gelas

    Pour in hot water

    Pour 250ml of hot water into the glass and wait 3 minutes.

  3. Wedang yang sudah terseduh

    Watch the colour return

    Enjoy it as is, or with sugar or honey. Can be steeped up to 3 times.

*Traditionally, wedang is served with the spices still in the glass, unstrained.

How long does it keep once opened?

Shelf life is up to 1 year. Once a sachet is opened, brew it right away.

Can I steep it again?

Yes, Wungu Malih wedang can be steeped up to 3 times.

Does it contain sugar or preservatives?

Wungu Malih wedang contains no preservatives or additives. Rock sugar comes separately in its own sachet.
